Yay! Sportsball!

This week has totally kicked my butt. I think what happens when they give you a day off is that the universe tries to extract the lost work hours from your other four days. On Tuesday, I spent my only class period off covering for another teacher. On Wednesday, I spent that time meeting with a parent. Today, I covered a class again. I legitimately haven't had time to reply to the simplest emails.

On Tuesday night, I headed over to my parents' house. Cas had parent night at his school, and over in Richardson, dad had my motorcycle repaired and ready to put on Craigslist. I've had one serious potential buyer so far.
Tonight, I went to a football game. I stuck around for the halftime show and headed out. I was chosen as a favorite teacher today by a kid in my third period who is on the football team. This means I get a jersey. I'm number 82 tonight. The kid who handed me the jersey was very nonchalant about it. He walked up with the jersey in his hand, shoved it into my hands, and said, "Here. I picked you."

It was sweet, if a little awkward. The jersey was pretty musty smelling, and it looked strange when I put it on over my dress, but I sported it off and on all day.

I actually took it home and hosed it down with a better smell before heading out to the game. I'm just home, now. The boys were winning with a score of something like 36-0 when I left. Good enough.

Cas is at an overnight retreat/lock in for his school, so I actually won't see him until tomorrow after work. It's going to be strange sleeping in this house without him. I've actually never done that before. First time for everything.
