Wine and roses

Yesterday, Cas and I met Jeanne for lunch at Ozona.  We thought it would be good to get a feel for the place before we had our appointment with the florist, and it was a good excuse to have a nice lunch.

We ate some tacos and talked the manager out of a set of floor plan charts.  That actually came in handy when we talked to the florist.  I have to admit, this is another occasion when my inability to be girly was a hindrance.  If you looked at my Google search history for the time of the appointment at the florist, you would see that I was doing image search after image search on different kinds of flowers.  I had no clue.  I like flowers and I certainly think they are pretty, but I haven't the slightest clue which ones are which.

Still, I am quite confident that everything will work out and the flowers will be beautiful.

When we left the florist, we headed straight for Grapevine.  We had a scheduled spot on the ghost tour.  It was a walking tour that started at 7pm and took us around the Main Street area.  The town had some rather spooky stories for us to hear, but I was not frightened once during the tour.  I was more entertained than scared.

That was our tour guide, Daniel.  He was explaining the little structure behind him, which had been used to temporarily house prisoners until they could be moved to a proper jail.  It was a pretty snug little structure, and I can't imagine how hot it would get at high noon.  I guess the moral of that story is: don't break the law in old-timey Grapevine.

It was a fun evening, and we had plenty of good wine to accompany the good times.  Today, we have almost nothing on the books.  I went to the gym, and we are supposed to have a phone call with the people from Go Ahead tours here any moment.  I think we're just supposed to hash out any last details.  Then, I guess, we go ahead, as the name would suggest.  I'm down to clown.
